G&W Netball
What began as a better club website became a digital platform for running an entire netball club.
COLLECTION / COMMUNITY
Some of my favourite projects start with somebody saying:
"I wish this worked differently."
Not a specification. Not a budget. Just a person who has been quietly annoyed by something for long enough to mention it out loud.
These are the projects built for somebody else — an independent business, a club, a committee, a group of volunteers. They have a different weight to the ones I build for myself, because somebody is relying on them on a Saturday morning.
Run by volunteers, held together by group chats, and deserving of better tools than they usually get.

What began as a better club website became a digital platform for running an entire netball club.

A beer-league hockey site built as though you have found an old computer and the Raiders operating system is still running.
Independent businesses with far more personality in real life than their websites ever showed.

Giving an independent wellness business a digital home with as much personality as the real thing.

A second independent wellbeing business, and a proper test of what actually transfers between two projects in the same sector.

A beauty salon asked for a more modern website. It is becoming a small business system for bookings, customers, cancellations and repeat business.
"We need a new website" almost always turns out to mean something else — usually that a specific thing is taking somebody two hours a week and quietly driving them mad.
Anything that needs a weekly admin session will be abandoned by March. If it isn't easier than the thing it replaced, it has failed.
If the booking system is fine, leave the booking system alone. Replace the bit that makes them look like everybody else.
They should be able to change their own opening hours, prices and photographs without ringing me. Anything else is a dependency dressed up as a service.
I build things because I enjoy figuring out how they should work.
Recently that's included websites and digital tools for small businesses, sports clubs and people who wanted something that felt a little more like them and a little less like a template.
If you've got an idea, a slightly awkward problem or a website that's doing absolutely nothing for you, say hello.
Worst case, we have a chat. Best case, we make something useful.
