OFF THE CLOCK

Hockey has been part of my life since I was a kid in Bracknell.

• PlayingRiverside Raiders, number 95. Beer-league hockey, played with more enthusiasm than finesse.
• DesignClub branding, matchday graphics, player cards and the occasional jersey concept nobody asked for.
• PhotographyShooting the rink. Cold hands, bad light, and the one frame a season that makes it worth it.
• Media projectsThe Raiders website, built as though you have found an old computer with the club operating system still running.

I started as a parent trying to help my daughter keep playing. I stayed because I fell in love with coaching.

• InvolvementTeam Coach at Grappenhall & Widnes, and Web Master for the club.
• Club digital systemsRegistrations, fixtures, communications, the shop and the sponsors — the boring parts, done properly.
• Statistics toolsWorking out whether grassroots netball can have useful numbers without turning match day into data entry.
• Website workThe club site, and making sure a parent can find a fixture on a phone in under ten seconds.
• Grassroots ideasMost of the contents of the idea drawer that involve a court, a whistle or a committee.
